Public Abstract of the 2021 ICCA Ranking

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has released its Public Abstract of the 2021 ICCA Ranking.

We are happy to announce that Serbia is ranked 47 in the world, maintaining its steady position among the top 50 global destinations for international meetings. Top five countries in the world are USA, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. In Europe, Serbia is ranked 27.

Vienna, Lisbon, Athens, Barcelona and Singapore rank highest among the cities. In the full DPI, available to ICCA members, Belgrade holds 60th position, following Zagreb and preceding Istanbul, with some notable capitals and metropolises far behind. In Europe, Belgrade ranks 45.

In order to take into account the circumstances created by the COVID pandemic, the Destination Performance Index (DPI) was developed using six different performance indicators:

  1. Planned meetings
  2. Unaffected meetings
  3. Virtual meetings
  4. Hybrid meetings
  5. Digitalisation: Virtual/Hybrid
  6. Business continuation: Unaffected/Virtual/Hybrid

All of the above indicators result in separate rankings which are then combined into the DPI, as the aggregated ranking of those six individual rankings. The DPI is available on Worldwide/Regional level and on Country/City level, for the following regions: Worldwide, North/Latin America, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
